3 year olds.....

aarrggghhhh I've had enough...

James has been trying me all day. Just not listening to what I have to say or ask him.
We went out this morning to pay rent, and he decided there and then to throw a tantrum coz he wanted to continue drawing, when I told him no, he threw himself to the ground and made such a scene. So much so that I had to carry him out of there by the arm. Then at Mum's he kept back chatting, NO I'M NOT DOING THAT MUM, hitting harry, hurting Aerin the list goes on. Then to top it off tonight, he was waving his pj's top around and kept hitting me with it. I asked him to stop time and time again, and after a while I took it off him and put him to bed. Let's hope he'll go off to sleep now...

Nope spoke too soon, he wants his quilt put back on. Better go and do that and get him his nightly Milo...

Update

Oh wow... Look how long it's been since I last updated in here..

So much has happened.... Too much to try and fill you in, so will just go recently with what's happened...

Yesterday, we had a 1st birthday party to go to. A little girl that Mum and I look after turned 1 on Thursday and had her party yesterday. She's such a gorgeous little girl. James and Harry think of Aerin as their little sister, and Aerin's mum calls the boys her brothers. When we got to the party yesterday, she introduced the boys to everyone as Aerin's brothers. I thought that was quiet cute. Here are a few pics.

Harry finally sitting in the water.... James in the water

Aerin the birthday girl.. James, Aerin and Harry

We were going to go to the beach last night as it was 38 degrees here yesterday, but about 10 mins before we planned to leave, James threw a tantrum and hit harry with a toy. So I had to make a decision to stay at home and try to punish him. I think it worked to a certain degree, as about 8pm he asked to go to the beach but I told him that we couldn't because he'd been naughty, and he ran to his room and started crying. Today, was a much better day from him, I think he learnt that if he was overly naughty he didn't get to go anywhere.

On his way to bed tonight, Harry ran into his room, slipped on a toy and hit his head on the metal railing on James's bed. He was trying to jump onto James's bed so that I could change his bum and get his pj's on him, but didn't quite make it. So he will have yet another bruise on his face, to match the massive one that he has at the moment.

Not much to report at the moment. Life goes on as normal.

We are getting ready for James's birthday on Saturday. Wow it's that close!!!! We're just planning on having a small get together with a few friends, and afternoon tea.

Richard's still working quite long hours, I'm starting to get used to them, still don't like being on my own for 13 hours at night, but what can I do. My work is going well, I've just picked up another weekly place, so I'm now working M-Th 3-5 hours a day depending on the day. I just need 1 more weekly place on a wednesday and I'll be quite happy.

Just under 2 weeks until I go to Melbourne. I can't wait for that. I finally get to meet, Caroline, Caz, Jess, Laura and of course I can't forget Rene who is driving all the way from Griffith for this meet up. YAY!! IT's going to be so much fun. But the main reason I'm heading there is to spend the weekend with Solly, it's been 4 years since we last saw each other.

The girls arrive in 4 weeks, we spoke with them on the phone last night, and they can't wait. Phoebe said that they have been marking off a calendar when the days pass, so they know exactly how long it is until they get here.

James is now fully in a big boy bed, it's taken a while, but he does all his sleeps in there. Which means we've finally been able to put Harrison into the proper cot, and take him out of the port a cot which he's been in since birth. It took a while for him to get used to the different sides and size but he seems ok in there now.

Well that's about it, will update again soon.

Hello Everyone

Once again my apologies for being so slack. I have been really busy with work, plus I thought no one read this anymore.

WORK!!
I'm now working 4 days a week, Mon-Thursday, between 2 and 5 hours a day. The extra bit of money is nice, it means we can go out and do things without stressing too much. I actually picked up another place on Tuesdays. Cleaning houses isn't exactly a glam job, but it's something.

RICHARDS WORK!!
As thouse of you who receive Rich's emails know, he absolutely loves his new job. He's just abot to start the first of his 4 off for the week, which will be nice. We can go out and enjoy some family time.

THE BOYS!!
Well those of you who haven't seen the boys for a while wouldn't recognise them. They are both growing up so quickly.Conversations with James are so clear now, and Harrison's picking up new words everyday. He has now just started counting to three. Not to mention that he is still calling me Gail instead of mum, but I blame my brothers for that one. James is fully toilet trained during the day now, but we are still having trouble with nights. Also he is starting the transition from his cot to his big boy bed. He spent all night last night in there, and didn't get out until I got him up this morning. I wonder how much longer that will last. Harrison is going through a bully stage. He's hitting and punching anything and everything.

MOTHERS DAY!!
I had a lovely Mother's Day this year. Mum took Granny and I to a lovely restaurant for Breakfast on Sunday morning. We had bacon and eggs, pancakes, chocolates, OJ, Coffee, you name it we had it that day. Before we went though Rich and the boys gave me my pressies. I got a slow cooker, which has been used sooo much already, a new dressing gown as it's getting rather cold here now a days, a big box of choccies and the new Michael Buble CD. The boys had also made me pressies at Mum's while they were there during the days. I got a really nice photo collage of them. 1 each and a little earring box that they had both decorated for me. I got quite spoilt that day. Later on that evening Mum and Granny came round for dinner, and Rich cooked a BBQ. All in all it was a lovely day.

JAMES'S BIRTHDAY!!
James has decided for his birthday that he wants a Tiger theme. He has a real obsession with animals at the moment. We have to go to the zoo at least once every 2 months or else he starts whinging that he misses all the animals. So he told me that he wants a Tiger cake for his birthday, and that he wants a bike to ride. So I guess I'll be out looking for something for him soon, being as there are only 4 weeks until his birthday.

MELBOURNE!!
The weekend after James's birthday, I'm going to Melbourne for 2 nights. It will be GREAT to catch up with Solly, it's been AGES since I last saw her, (before I fell pg with James) and I'll also be catching up with some of the Mum's from my online Mum's group. We have all been together through so much over the past 3 years, and it will be awesome to meet them at last. I can't wait for that one. It will just be me going, so a weekend as Gail and not Mummy. YAYAY!!!

Ok I think that's about it. I really only have one more thing to say

HAPPY 60th BIRTHDAY FRANKIE/MUM/NANNY
for Monday. We all hope you have a great time.
Ok will post some pics a little later when I can sort out the ones I want to put up.

Harrison Update!!!

Well at 14 months old my little boy is certainly growing up. We have been teaching him "round a garden" and he's totally getting the hang of it. You go "round and round a garden" and he points to his hand and starts drawing circles on his palm, and then mumbles something and ends up saying garden. Then when you get to the one, two, he says 2.

He loves to Jump and dance, when you ask him to Jump, he bends down and then says "ump" and dance he stands there and waves his hands in the air. Similar to what James used to do at the same age.

He's also walking really really well. To the point that you can walk in a shopping centre with him, which is really good these days, saves having to take the pram everywhere we go.

I just can't get over how quickly he's growing up, this time last year he was only 12 weeks old and we were getting ready for his christening, and now he's walking, talking and getting into sooo much trouble.

He just loves to get James into trouble, by teasing him and punching him up. I've seen Harrison in the act hitting James, and then running away and crying, making me think that James has hurt him instead.

WOW long time no post....

.... I can't believe that I haven't posted since Jan 3rd. I've been meaning to get on here and do something up, but I guess I just haven't had the time. And then with not having the internet for the past 3 weeks, it's just made it impossible.

So much has been happening.
RICHARDS BIRTHDAY
Better start back at Richard's birthday. We had a lovely day at home, the boys and I did breakfast in bed for him, then we just spent the afternoon lounging around at home. And that evening we went to Mum's for dinner. After dinner, James was begging us to go to the Beach, so Mum took us in her new car. We had a lovely time down there.

THE ZOO
About 2 weeks ago, I had a friend from Brisbane come to Adelaide for a weekend, so we arranged to go to the Zoo together with the kids. The last time I saw Linda, James was about 9 months old, and I had just found out that I was pregnant with Harrison. Her little boy Rueben was only a few weeks old. So it was good to catch up, the minute we saw each other we both pretty much said the same thing, OMG look how much so and so has grown up. We had a good day at the zoo, both boys were really well behaved, sat in the double pram and just enjoyed themselves. Everytime we went to a new animal, James would make the noise and tell us what animal it was. After a long day there we came home and crashed.
WORK
I finally got a job for myself. Back in January I put my name down for about 5 positions with different companies but didn't hear anything, so kind of figured that nothing was going to come of it all. Well I was at Mum's 3 weeks ago and got a phonecall, was I able to come in the next day for an interview. So off I went on the Wednesday morning, and that afternoon, was asked to go in on Thursday for training. The job was at a well known hotel in the city, cleaning the rooms. It wasn't my ideal job, but it was something. The first 4 days we great, as I had someone helping me and we would swap tasks in each room. Day 5 though was a totally different story. I had to start on my own, I think I had about 15 rooms to get through on my own. I was dreading doing it all, knowing that I wasn't going to get through it on time, and I would only get paid for the set amount of hours and no more. That was Sunday, that night I was in excruciating pain. My lower back and hip were killing me. (After effects of the Car accident we had when driving from Toowoomba to Adelaide) Wednesday the pain wasn't any less, so I went to my Dr, and he advised me that it probably wasn't the best job for me given the pain that I was in. So I had to quit that job. 2 hours later, I received a txt message on my phone from another agency, this time it was just house cleaning. So I went in for the interview, and come yesterday (Friday afternoon) I was told the job was mine. YAY!! At least with this job, it's only 1 house per day, and I can take my time if I wish. I know that I can handle house cleaning, as I obviously do my own on a daily basis, but I also clean a friends and her mum's place weekly and am fine after that. So I have induction on Monday. Can't wait.
THE BOYS
Well as I have said in a few emails, I am toilet training James at the moment. It's proving to be rather testing. We seem to have #1's covered, it's getting him to do #2's in the toilet. He likes doing them in his pants. So starting tomorrow, we're going to try a start system which we did for the wee's. Fingers crossed it works, because at the moment, nothing else is. Apart from that James is doing really well. He's decided that he wants drums for his birthday, and a drum cake. So I guess that means I need to start looking around for a drum cake recipe. I'm not sure why, but everything these days are drums and drum sticks.
Harrison is growing in leaps and bounds. His latest thing is to point and go "what's that?" That's all we get all day long at the moment. It's soo cute though. What isn't cute is him following me around the house. If he can't see me, he screams until I come looking for him and then he's all happy, until I walk away. He's starting to want to be cuddled and held all day, which I'm really not liking. I think part of it has to do with me not being around him all the time anymore due to work, but aaarrrggghhh hopefully he grows out of it soon.
Anyway best be off, it's getting late here and I'm starting to fall asleep. I PROMISE that I will update more often.
Take care
Lots of love
Gail.

A rare night out...

Well as the title suggests I had a rare night out on Tuesday night. Kristen and I went to the Cricket at the Adelaide Oval. South Australia were playing New South Wales. It was a 20/20 match, so the perfect opportunity for Kristen to go to her first Cricket game. I'm not sure I like the format, but it's good for the little kids to go and watch. Although in saying that she now wants to go to an Australian international game. Unfortunately she'll be back in Brisbane before the games are here, but I promised her that if she's still interested come September this year, I'll get her a ticket for a one day game for Christmas. So we'll see what happens.

South Australia LOST by 7 wickets I think.

It was quite funny, all the questions that Kristen was asking me on Tuesday night, were pretty much the same questions that I'd asked my Dad when I first got into cricket.

While Kristen and I were at the Cricket, Mum took the boys and Phoebe to the Beach. They had a GREAT time there as well.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Just wanted to quickly pop in and wish everyone a

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Welcome to 2008

Hope this year is as good as you hope it will be.

We have a busy year this year just from invites so far. We have 2 weddings to attend, both of them in Melbourne, hopefully we can make it. We have Kristens graduation at the end of the year, in which she would like both Richard and I go attend, so will have to see about that one, but 1 of us at least will be there. And I'm sure there will be other things pop up through out the course of the year.

Well here we are.. My 28th Birthday. OMG did I just say that...

Thank you to those of you who sent gifts, cards and messages.. Will get around to sending individual emails, thank you's tomorrow when things aren't so hectic around here.

I had a great day!!! Got spoilt as usual. Rich and the kids all got me breakfast in bed, yummo.. Pancakes, and raison toast, and then we did the pressies.. Rich got me a new top and a pair of pants, and the kids got me a new diary for next year, a charm for my bracelet, and a CD that I can put on and bop away to while cleaning the house.

We also went to the zoo, lucky I managed to get everything packed last night and just needed to take out the frozen water and pack that this morning. It was sooo hot at the Zoo today, I think between all of us, we went through 8 litres of water. But we had a GREAT time. James thought it was soo good seeing all the animals. We got to see the SeaLions get fed, and the Lions get fed. It was great. Kristen made sure she saw her favourite animal - COWS!! We had a lovely picnic lunch there, and then stopped for an iceblock when we'd finished. Mum came as well so that was nice.

Last night, Mum invited us over for dinner, because of going out today she knew that we wouldn't make it, and she wanted to give me my pressies as well. So we went round, and my Uncle turned up, (it was his birthday too) I haven't seen him in a year so that was nice to see him again. For my birthday Mum got me some new towels and facewashers, some new tshirts, and 2 new charms for my bracelet, a nice blue topaz earring and necklace set, and a nice pair of red earrings.

Amidst all the excitement of today, was also our 4th Wedding anniversary. Not that we did anything this year, we've decided the years we have the girls we'll just leave it, as it's difficult to go and and do stuff..

Ok better go and get these kids out of the pool. They've been in there since 6pm and it's now 8pm. They only got out for dinner (Pizza) and then went back in. Luckily I can see the pool from the kitchen where the computer desk is. And there's only the girls and James in there. Before I go though here are some piccies of today...

There are some more photos with the girls in them, but they're on Mum's camera, so will have to put them up tomorrow when I do the Christmas post...

Take care Love Gail. xoxoxo

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Thought I'd pop in and wish everyone a

VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS
hope you all have a great day and get spoilt rotten...

We're going to be having a quiet christmas this year.. Well quiet compared to other years, this year there will be no driving to Brisbane to either pick up or drop off the girls. We have them ALL of christmas day which will be brilliant. We're going to have the morning at home opening pressies, and then will go to Mum's for lunch. So very, very quiet.

It's interesting to see James getting into Christmas. He still doesn't quite get the concept of father christmas but is loving all the christmas decorations up in the shops and at home, and of course wants all the presents that are under the tree.. So I'm hoping that by next year he'll totally understand christmas.

We were at Mum's yesterday, and she had bought the boys an elf out-fit each. So we dressed the boys up as elves, Kristen as Rudolph and Phoebe as a Fairy. They all look soo cute.

Hope everyone has a GREAT Christmas tomorrow.. Take care and will be back with photos later.

Happy Birthday Harry Boy!!!

OMG I can't belive that Harrison is 1 already.

This time last year I was sitting in a hospital bed recovering from a C/Section, and now here I am with a walking, talking 1 year old.

The day started off quite late for us. Neither of the boys woke until 8:30am, and then it was James yelling out for Rich or I to get up and get him out of bed. Rich and I both got up, and then I heard Harrison so got him up as well. As soon as he saw his presents in the loungeroom that was it. He wanted to open them straight away.

After he opened his presents, we had breaky and then decided to head up to Handorf (which is a small german village in the hills) A friend of mine is leaving Adelaide tomorrow (Monday) to go back to Ipswich. Her Hubby is in the Army and so is being posted back there. So thought it would be a nice day to go for a drive. What a mistake that was....

Today of all days was the annual Motorcycle Fun Run from Adelaide to Handorf. Where Motorcyclists from all over Australia ride their bikes from Adelaide to Handorf with toys for underprivilledged children for Christmas. On our drive up there we passed, and we passed by heaps of bikes, but we weren't prepared for the amount that were already there. Once we arrived in Handorf we managed to find a park and started walking towards the main street when ALL the bikes started riding past. There must have been at least 2000 bikes in total. For the next hour I reckon, there was a constant, steady stream of bikes riding down the main street towards the oval. James of course thought it was GREAT, and kept saying, look mummy johns bike johns bike. It was soo cute.

Once the bikes had finished we met up with Linsey who only had Patrick with her. Addison was back in the hotel room sleeping with her hubby Adam. So we had lunch, and then went back to her hotel room and had a chat. I couldn't get over how grown up Addison is, he will be 4 months old on Christmas Eve. It will be sad not to be able to meet up with her anymore, but we now have an extra place to visit when we go back to QLD for holidays.

It was then on to Mum's for dinner and desert. YUM YUM!!!! Will some back and post some pics for all to see later... Better get going and put these two tired boys to bed...
Take care
Love Gail.

WALKING!!!!

That's right you read correctly.. Harrison is walking now... He started walking along furniture a few weeks ago, but is now walking along anything that will hold him up. Mum bought a walker for him to play with at her place and he walks along holding it 1 handed. He thinks he's just it. He's decided that he doesn't like crawling much anymore, you have to hold his hand and walk with him. He is still a bit unsteady on his own, but last night took 3 steps on his own before realising what he did. It's so cute to watch. So I'm guessing it won't be too long now and he'll be walking on his own. NNNOOOOO!!! Where has my baby gone.

Starting to gear up here for December. It's the worst month of the year for us. Not just because of Christmas but 4 birthdays and 1 wedding anniversary.. Phoebe the 8th, Harrison the 9th, my uncle the 29th and me the 30th. And then our Wedding Anniversary also on the 30th. And then of course Christmas on the 25th.

We have already paid for the girls tickets to come for Christmas this year. It's going to be nice, the first time in the 7 Christmases Rich and I have been together, that we've had the girls ALL of Christmas day. Usually it was Christmas morning us - Christmas afternoon annette and then vice versa the following year, but with us being here in Adelaide now it makes it a bit difficult. So the girls are arriving on Friday the 14th at 9am or something like that. We can't wait to see them. James knows that they're coming soon, and so everytime we go out. "Mummy we go airport and see Gisten and Bebe on pane." I have to keep telling him that we will see them soon. So at least we know that he is really excited about seeing the girls.

Not much else to report here at the moment. Mainly wanted to fill you in on what Harry boy is doing.

Mid week mayhem

Not much to report this week.

Oh I don't know if I've said anything yet, but I went out a few weeks ago and got all my hair chopped off. Will see if I have a pic on my comp. It's quite short. But it's soo much easier to manage in a morning. Just have to brush, put gel in and off I go. Whoo hoo.. I love it.. Have to go back in a week or two and get it cut again as it's grown and has lost the look that I was after. But I'm happy with it.

Only 3 and a bit weeks until my Harry boy is 1.. Where has the year gone. It only hit me a few days ago, that 3 weeks after Harry's birthday is my birthday. I'd kind of forgotten about that, what with Phoebe's birthday, then Harry's, then Xmas I don't have time to think about me anymore. I'm pretty confident that I have all of Harrison's present, and will go out when the girls arrive and buy something from them to give to Harrison for his birthday. We won't be doing anything special for his actual birthday, might just go to Mum's for dinner, but the following weekend, we will be having a party for him. Again it won't be a big thing, and no where near as big as James's first birthday was, but we'll still have something.

Speaking of the girls. I can't belive that it's only 4 weeks and they will be here.. The 12 weeks inbetween their visits is getting shorter and shorter. Maybe I'm just getting busier and busier. What did Rich and I work out today.. My week consists of something like this.. Mondays - Personal training session at the gym, Tuesdays - Work, Wednesdays - Slim session at the gym, Thursdays - Housework, Fridays - finally a day at home with the boys doing nothing, Saturdays - Shopping with Mum and Sundays - spending some family time with Rich. No wonder the weeks are flying by at the moment.

James has gone back to sleeping in his cot. He didn't want the big boy bed just yet. Which is fine by me, I don't mind either way. The side is still off the cot, so all we have to do is swing the cot around and it's a big boy bed. But it's up to him. Mum and I decided the other day that after Xmas, in the new year, we are going to start TTing James. He's now 2 1/2 so we figure that he's well and truly at that age.

Ok well will leave it there at it's bed time.. Hope everyone is well..
